One summer day in Tokyo, a gate suddenly opened up, pouring a slew of monstrous creatures and soldiers onto the unsuspecting citizens and slaughtering them. The gate connected Earth with an unknown world, creating a new kind of war. The event came to be known as the Ginza Incident.

Now the Japanese Self-Defense Force has deployed some of its members through the gate, including otaku soldier Youji. Their mission is to find out as much as they can about the other world and stop the supernatural dangers from destroying Earth.
